Whee! Spoolknitters that are puppets!
Last week, I had this wonderful, ‘AHA!’ moment!
I was playing with a new spoolie (one of the new skulls) . Because I am a professional puppeteer as well as being a designer, I stuck my finger in the spoolie and started animating it…… WELL! woohoo! I had a cascade of ideas all come racketing into my little brain all at once! wheeeeeeee!
I grabbed some wood and started sculpting, but wasn’t happy with where I went with it. So, I started bugging Jim to turn me more little heads like the prototype skullie.
Bless his heart, he got to it and has made me my first batch:
And, after a heap more work: Here we have it:
A SPOOLKNITTER that is also a puppet head! I have combined three of my great loves: Woodworking, puppetry and spoolknitting! win win win….
The spoolliepuppets are about 2 inches tall, and have 5 pegs.
The head goes on your index finger, with either a glove acting as the body, (I snipped the tip off the index finger of the glove, and pushed the ring and little fingers inside the glove and folded my fingers up inside the glove):
OR:
OR: Point your index finger in the air, and put a scarf on it.
Pop the Spoolliepuppet onto your finger. Now, slip a ring onto your thumb, and another onto your middle finger.
Voila! She comes to life! The wings? Use her to make them.
The instructions on how to make them will come with the Spoolliepuppet.
She can also make her own hats:
The instructions are at: Spoolie hat
and…. she can also make soooooooooo many of the projects that you’ll find in this LIST
At this point, I only have the one spoolliepuppet for sale, as Jim only turned 4 for me. 2 of them became skull spoolies:
Wendy’s skullie spoolliepuppet
Regina’s skullie spoolliepuppet
and I am keeping one for me.
I’m tugging at Jim’s elbow, saying: “Please, sir, may I have some moooooooooooooooooooooooooooore?”
I need him to make lotsssssssssssssssssssssssssss more!
:D I L O V E my spoolliepuppets!

What a cool idea! I really like that! Regina’s skullie looks like a Day of the Dead skull with the flowers. My sister used to do puppetry too, more like the Muppets, for her church youth group. I used to crocet those little figer puppets all the time when I was younger and had young kid!
