Wendy’s skull spoolknitter and crochet hook

Some of my friends and relations have a

“shudder, cringe, erg, um” response to the skull spoolknitters and crochet hooks that I’ve been commissioned to make….. and, to be honest, I am amazed that I am finding such playful delight in doing them.

The documentary that we saw about the Mexican Day of the Dead really changed my mind about the way we look at some kinds of imagery.

Anyhow, my friend, Wendy, saw the prototypes of the new skull image hooks and spoolies, and said: Yes!

So, I’ve just finished a set for her, too…..

I had a feeling that her skullies had to have flower garlands on them…. luckily Wendy is open to playful stuff like that!
