Hankering for Yarn

Weaving Peace

by Noreen on June 18th, 2007

Terri Bibbi  is one of my dearest friends. She is in Japan right now, deepening her study of Saori weaving.

She’s taking part in a project in which peace banners that have been woven in Saori studios all over the world are going to Hiroshima.

She’s written about it here: Weaving Peace

Bless her heart.

Bless all peacemakers and weavers of peace.

I hope that we ALL can weave some peace in our lives!

hugs all round,

Noreen

Weaving Peace, what a great concept. Would love to learn to weave. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could afford to just weave, knit, crochet, whatever your love is and do it all the time, for the love of it?

I agree, Sandi. Weaving a new peace is a powerful metaphor, and something for us all to aspire to!
I hope that you will follow your heart, and begin to weave :)
And, yes, indeed, stitching a life of love is also a lovely thing to aspire to, as well!

Thank you Noreen! It has been quite a journey. Bringing the Peace Banner and delivering it to Hiroshima was very moving to say the least. I have taken pictures of it at the Peace Park and will post those when I get home.

Today we visited another SAORI weaving studio in Himeji where many people with all abilities weave as their work. What inspiration!

    Terri - still in Japan….

Ah, Terri, thank you so much for being an ambassador of peace, healing, love and light! I can barely imagine the magnitude of carrying Peace Banners to Hiroshima…….. thank you, thank you!
    Praying for peace…….
