Weaving for Peace
My dear friend, Terri Bibby, of Salt Spring Island, BC, just sent me this note, and I was so inspired that I wanted to share it:
Terri is going to the World Peace Forum to facilitate the weaving of a Peace Banner (http://www.worldpeaceforum.ca/themes/special-events). She is currently working with SAORI weaving and will have a loom set up at UBC in Vancouver on Sunday, June 25 and then at the Vancouver Public Library on June 26 & 27. The public and the Peace Forum delegates will be invited to sit down and add to the banner. By each person adding an expression of themselves, the banner will be an expression of the community.
Some of the Salt Spring Island Weavers’ Guild members have donated yarn and thrums for the project. Kim Cowley-Adam of Nanaimo has been generous in lending Terri a SAORI loom and Terri’s son will be helping her with the set up.
The banner will be given to a East Vancouver Women’s Shelter.
If anyone is in the area, please feel free to drop by and do a bit of Weaving for Peace.
Terri

So, if you are in Vancouver, BC, this weekend, I hope you’ll go join in the weaving of a banner for peace!
hugs and blessings
