The Hemp Bag: The Cat’s on the bag!
Last summer, I made a bag to carry projects and stuff for the workshops that I taught at the Knit and Crochet show
So, I posted this:
Anyhow, I am making this wild and wonderful bag. It started out with a pair of painted wooden handles that I made a few years back.
you can see them by clicking
I thought that rainbow hemp cord would be wonderful on my vintage Lily Speed-o-weave loom. I was right…. it’s great to work with. (click on the handles link to get the address for the hemp site).
And………
then, I thought……… OH! I should get my spoolie out and spool knit some dolls for the sides of the bag- matching up the flat dolls on the handles would be fun!
yep……..
and one thing leads to another………
and now……..
tadah!
There’s a cat on the bag!
and I have a million buttons, so I thought that it would be fun to scatter a few on there too…..

By the way, my wonderful almost-son-in-law is making GORGEOUS brass shuttles now. That’s one of his. He’ll soon be selling them. I love them. (and him, too. He’s a keeper!)
Next: The spool knitted cord for the edging.
I can’t believe how much fun it is to make this bag.
I love it when one thing just keeps leading to another, opening one magical door after another.
I wish someone would open a door that would let Springtime out of the bag, and stuff winter into storage! Sheesh.
Stay warm………
