Hankering for Yarn

Teeny Bears for Charity

by Noreen on November 28th, 2007

The other day, I posted about making teeny bears for charity.

Today, it hit me that I could use the pattern that I designed for a teeny potholder loom woven bear  to make felted  comfort bears for the women and children at the women’s shelter.

So, I whipped out the book-it’s been awhile since I designed it, so couldn’t remember the finer points :) - and my potholder loom and a little bit of feltable yarn.  Within a few minutes, had woven up this wee bear.

He’s going to go in with a load of laundry, and will get felted and smaller.

This is working for me! I’m going to make a bunch more of these little comfort bears.  Yay for potholder looms!

I’ll take pictures after he’s had his bath.

I hope that he’ll be a source of comfort and delight to someone who needs it!

I love making presies for Christmas…. like they say, charity begins at home…….. well, charity begins in the studio! (and the heart)   :)

hugs all round
