I have been spinning up a storm this past week…..
Here’s some bombyx silk that I’ve spun up and am spool knitting like mad with to finish a project for workshops I am teaching in September.

Are you up for a challenge? The Tour de FLEECE

This just cracked me up.  I think it’s utterly delightful.
It’s a spinning (of the yarnie kind, not bikie kind) challenge that is taking place during the Tour de France bicycle race.

Woven mixed media dolls - 2

In my last posting, I showed pictures of my woven mixed media dolls, Neni and Homage to Dame Julian of Norwich.
These dolls are more whimsical:
I spun the yarn and then wove them on potholder looms and combined them will all kinds of mixed media: Leather, wood, stones, metal, wire, buttons and more….
