Spool knitting with light weight yarn

If you are spool knitting with fine thread or light weight yarn, and only have one cone or ball of it, the stitches could be way too loopy, right?
Here’s a neat trick: Wrap around all the pegs 2 or 3 times and treat it as if you have several strands! Works great!

Happy Spooling!

Loom knitters do that all the time. (The round looms are just spool knitters with more pegs anyway.) You can either hold multiple strands together and work them as one, or you can do multiple wraps on the loom. If the latter, changing the number of loops lifted and loops left will change what things look like. So lifting one loop over three will look different than two lifted over two, and different than three over one, even though all start with four wraps. It’s fun to experiment and see how things turn out!

Thanks Juliann.
You’re right…. it’s so amazing to see how you can change the look of it by experimenting!
