Spool knitted Worry Doll Tutorial Part 2
by Noreen Crone-Findlay ©
Part one of the tutorial got things started with spool knitting the body, legs, head and arms.
And now, to shape the Worry Doll:
thread the yarn ends at the ends of the cord into a darning needle and weave them into the cord.
Bring them out of the cord about 1/2 inch or 1 cm away from the center of the cords.
Fold the longer cord in half and wrap the yarn ends around it to start the body shaping.
Lay the arms across the body.
THE SWEATER:
Lay a piece of yarn (in this case, it’s handspun) across the front of the body
Wrap the bodice of the sweater in an ‘X’ shape, front and back
then wrap one arm, wrap the bodice some more and
then wrap the second arm. Bring the yarn back to the body, wrap around the waist or neck and tie a knot with the starting yarn end. Trim the ends.
Yay! the sweater is done!
In the next posting, I’ll show how to make the Worry Doll’s skirt.
