Spool knitted Coffee Cozy-1
My husband loves coffee and makes it with a coffee press pot.
The glass doesn’t hold the heat well, so he usually puts one of the tea cozies on it. It’s not that satisfying a solution, as the teacozies are made for a rounder, shorter pot.
For Christmas, I decided to spool knit him a Coffee Cozy.
The first one I made was a disappointment. I tried coiling and stitching it together. Myech.
I decided to do a woven version instead. And I am happy with it!
To start, I needed to make a pattern:
I measured around the widest part of the coffee pot, and the height of the pot. I cut and taped pieces of paper together to be sure the coffee cozy would fit:
Great! it fits just fine!
It’s about 10 in. tall and about 8 1/2 in. across (17 in. around)
Now, the pattern needs to be traced onto cardboard and cut out:
Excellent! This becomes the template that will support the spool knitted pieces as I weave them together.
