Spirit of Peace Gulliver Crochet Hook

I was out in the workshop this morning, working on a new Gulliver Crochet hook. As I was sanding and grinding and cutting and shaping, I had the feeling that there was another hook just waiting to emerge….

I spotted a piece of branch that Jim had de-barked last winter and set aside. I cut off a length of it and split it in half.  One of my favorite songs started running through my head: ‘Spirit of peace….’

I split the wood and cut out the rough shape of the hook:

and carried on shaping the hook….

then drew and burned and painted the face

and, on the back, burned

Pax.

Peace……..  I hope that this hook will bring moments of peace and joy………

Oh……… I think I hear another hook calling me!
