Red Hat Spoolknitters
My best friend’s Mom is a total sweetheart. She’s very active with the Red Hat Society. To celebrate this, my best friend had given her a ‘Small Wonders’ spoolknitter
that I had made. It had a red hat on it….. and since she enjoys it so much, she decided that she should give 6 of her close Red Hat friends Red Hat Spoolies, too!
Jim turned them and I had a blast, letting my imagination go wild, drawing, burning and painting, flamboyant, and ‘oh so red’ Red Hats!
I hope that the Red Hat gang will just have a hoot spoolknitting up all kinds of amazing things with them!
The little gnome lady used to wear a blue hat, but she really wanted a red hat, too. Who could blame her?
hugs all round

love them! They’re perfect for the Red Hatters. I’m a Pink Hatter - not yet 50, so Pink Hatters wear pink hats and lavender.
I love all your spoolies, and as soon as I have some extra money, I’m getting one (or two, wait, maybe three….)LOL

Hi Noreen (and Jim)!
Wow!! The Red Hat Spoolies are gorgeous! I love the shades of red and purple that you used! They look delightfully ‘flamboyant’ displayed there in all their gleaming originality. It is so fitting that each red hat is a different style because that is certainly the way we “Dancing Red Hats” think we are!!
I have had a lot of fun (and serenity) using the Spoolie Terri gave me, and I can hardly wait to give these special RH Spoolies to my RH friends this week, when we’re at the Spring Fling at Jasper Park Lodge in all our Red and Purple glory! LOL!!
Thank you so much for creating these special gifts!!

P.S. Hey! Pink and Lavender Spoolies will be gorgeous too, Tammy!

These are so cute, Noreen. I’m of the Red Hat age, but haven’t had time to join a Red Hat club…or even find out is there are any in my “neck of the woods.”

check out http://www.redhatsociety.com. It’s an amazing website, and it has a locater for groups in your area. Last year I went to a dinner at a resturaunt that hosted a Red Hat Day, and as a Pink Hatter I found myself adopted by several different ladies from different groups. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate growing into the wise woman stage of our lives!

Thank you both, Mary Emma and Tammy. I was going to reply to Mary Emma that there must be ways of connecting with Red Hat groups in your travels, as you are such a travelling gal, Mary Emma! And, bless your heart, Tammy, you filled in the gaps in that thought!
thank you!

Noreen - I love the Red Hat Spoolies! They are even more splendiferous in real life - the Picks are sweet as can be and the red & purple yarn - and the instructions for multi projects - Well! your generosity is beyond belief - I can’t thank you enough! And - what a delightful surprise the little red hat you created is! It will be such a fun little project for us Red Hatters. More about same when I get back from Jasper.
I’m off now - - and I’m leaving too, LOL!! ox ~ Dawn

Hallo Terri,
and thank you for starting it all by buying your Mom the first Red Hat Spoolie that I made! I am so delighted that she gets so much joy from it! (and happy that it keeps her awake and happily spooling while your Dad drives *G* He said he’s happy now, too, because he now has a companion instead of a snoozer!) ROTFLOL!
I have been so inspired by making the Red Hat Spoolies, and then designing the Red Hats and Pink Hats to spoolknit with them. I am just heading off to the workshop to make a PINK HAT SPOOLIE!
:D
big hugs

Thanks, Tammy, for the Red Hat Society web site. I’ll have to look into it. As Noreen mentions, too, it might be fun to find groups in my travels.

Hi Mary Emma
It could be a really neat way to feel ‘at home’ when away from home! Sisters of the Red Hat! Fun!

You’re welcome, Mary Emma! You’ll find that Red Hat sisters are always welcoming, no matter where you are. The website is a lot of fun to look over - there’s so much going on!
Just an example of how supportive these sisters are - I’ve been going through a rough time lately, and haven’t gotten together with my group for a while. They got worried because I *disappeared*, and contacted me. I received so much love and support from them….
Oh, and Noreen, love the hats you made with the spoolies! Now I have to go and get some red and pink yarn (life is sooo tough….)LOL

Hi Tammy,
Sorry to hear that you are going through a rough time! I hope that your heart will soon be easy and you’ll have a spring in your step! I am so glad that you have found such a wonderful, loving supportive community with your Red Hat sisters!
And, thank you for your reminder about the Pink Hat members! I’ve made a Pink Hat Spoolie in honour of the Pink Hat Sisterhood!
