Peacemakers: Edzimkulu! and a new Peace Doll

Even though I haven’t been posting much about Peace Dolls lately, I am still working on them!
For weeks now, I have been folding and re-folding pieces of paper, trying to find my way to a new Origami Peace Angel.
(designing Origami and other folded and rolled paper dolls is one of my passions)
This morning, I woke up at 5 am, KNOWING how to do it! So, I jumped out of bed, and made a big cup of English Breakfast tea, and started folding.
Well…. the ~knowing~ ended up being more about the conviction that I was on the right track with the angel! In reality it took another 4 hours or so, and a lot of squares of paper, but!
I have got it now! I am thrilled with the new little Peace doll -
An Origami Angel of Peace.
I have taken the photographs to show how to make the Origami Peace Angels and will work on photoshopping them so I can write the directions and upload them. There are about 3 dozen photos, so I need to do some serious culling…..
Another really neat thing is that today I received a lovely little note from a lady who works with the most wonderful group:
Edzimkulu. Here’s their website: AWESOME!!!!

Last month, I watched the extensive coverage of the international conference on AIDS in Toronto. I realized that I didn’t actually know much about AIDS, other than it is devastating Africa. I watched hours of documentaries and interviews. I am still shell shocked by what I learned………
I saw an article in the newspaper about Edzimkulu, a group who is doing superb work in South Africa. I wondered if there was anything that I could do to help……
We shall see…………
hugs all round,
Noreen
