Now…… the burning!
I got hooked on doing wood burning more than 20 years ago. It is one of my favorite mediums. Jim designed and built me a rheostatic wood burner that I just love. It’s old and cranky now, and needs a lot of Jim’s soothing touch to keep it going, but it is one of my most treasured tools.
Wood burning is fascinating, as you walk a fine line between creation and destruction. The wood can suddenly go places on you that you just didn’t see coming…… so it’s a wonderful dance!
I guess the fact that most of my astrological signs happen to be fire signs probably pre-disposed me to pyrography!
The doll comes to life as the burning moves along:
And, it’s a feast for all the senses, because it smells sublime!
