Knitting Olympics 2006
Yarn Harlot: The 2006 Knitting Olympics
Challenges are good for the soul. I particularly like this one and will be talking about it in the next two weeks. I plan to participate and I hope you will too! I haven’t decided on my project yet, but I’ll keep you posted on that too.
From Yarn Harlot:
Eligibility: Any knitter who, embracing the “Citius, Alitius Fortius” ideal, would like to challenge themselves while embracing the Olympic spirit, and is just whacked enough to play along with me.
Concept: You must cast on a project during the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics (Feb 10)- and finish before the Olympic flame goes out (Feb 26). That’s 16 days.
Post your comments about your projects if you like. Send me photographs. This is a terrific opportunity to get back to knitting if you’ve been away, or tackle a new technique you’re anxious to try.

I think I am going to go with a sweater - it isn’t so much a challenge for technique, but I want to prove to myself that I can do a long sleeve cardigan in the 16 days. Are you going to try something for Knitting Olympics?

[…] But that is the neat part. Lion is having a contest that isn’t unlike the Knitting Olympics I talked about last week. It starts today, February 3rd and runs until March 15th. Read the contest rules and submission page and then just start designing something. […]
