How to make a button and bead doll
My friend, Cookie, asked me to show her how I make my bead and button dolls.
Gather up and lay out the findings, beads, buttons and charms for your doll.
Cut a piece of wire that is at least 6 times as long as the doll’s height.
Fold it in half, take it through the finding. Take both ends through the head and neck.
Take one wire down through one arm, through the bead or charm at the hand, and back up through the arm. Repeat with the other wire.
Take both wires through the body beads, and then one wire goes down through one leg, through the shoe charm or bead, twist at the ankle to anchor, and back up through the leg and into the body. Repeat for the other leg, and Voila! A bead and button doll!
Here’s the ‘flight path of the wire’:
They look great on a spool knitted cord! (or as a cellphone charm or on a hand made bag, whether you weave it, knit it or crochet it)
It’s a great Christmas presie! and, it’s quick and easy!
hugs all round

Hello Kesam
The bead and button dolls are also great when worked into freeform pieces :o)
And, speaking of making them for gifts, I started a new one for my sister - it suddenly struck me that she needs a dolly for the holidays! :o)
Tottie and Phineas send their hugs back!
as do I :o)
