Doll Chair for Sister’s Doll

by Noreen on September 28th, 2007

I mentioned, a post or two ago, that I was mulling over the making of a doll chair.

Jim and I thought about the doll chair for Big Sis’s doll .  I gave her the doll for her birthday last year. She cherishes it, because she feels that it looks so much like darlin’ Mum (who is dancing with the angels). We came up with all kinds of ways of making the chair.

Eventually,  I decided  on a chair that I had designed several years ago. Wouldn’t you know it…. I couldn’t find my template for it, and we were heading out on our trip…. eegads and little fish! I NEEDED to make the chair, and the studio was such a mess (because of the painting) that I couldn’t find the  original chair so I could make a new template.  Sheesh!

After a frantic scramble, I was able to find a 1/2 size version that I had made for my dollhouse. I took it apart, scaled it up, and was happily making her chair! Yay!

Got it done at 1 in the morning on the night before we headed out on our trip. Whew….

Here it is, sitting in Big Sis’s room….

Jim made the side table and footstool to accompany it.

And here’s Dolly sitting in it…..

Shes sitting next to the hat that was Mum’s absolute favorite.

I hope Dolly is comfie…. and that Big Sis’s birthday was lovely!

hugs all round
