Hankering for Yarn

Deciding, with a little help from my friends:1-drawing and burning the spoolknitter

by Noreen on May 29th, 2007

Jim and I are both feeling worn out from the stress of dealing with all the stuff that you have to do after a loved one dies. It’s rough going. Whew. (His darlin’ Mum  passed away a couple of weeks ago).

We’re ‘making re-entry’ into  ‘regular life’,  and it feels pretty odd.  While I am getting back in step, meeting design deadlines, we are really busy doing things like cleaning and organizing Mum’s house as we get ready to sell it. (And the paperwork after someone dies is just unseemly!)

I’m also working on  catching up on a backlog of blog entries. This is one that I’ve been working on, catch as catch can:

Earlier in the month, I took a break from wedding preparations and design deadlines, and made a new spoolie:

I couldn’t decide whether she should have a hat, and what her hair should be like, so I  posted:

I can’t decide

I got lots of suggestions, and the consensus was to give Gladdie Gertie  curls

and a red hat with a scarf:

It was awhile before I could find the time to paint her.

So, I’ll show that in my next posting.   :)

hugs all round,

Noreen
