Cornstarch Clay Worry Dolls - 2
Part one of the tutorial gave the recipe for how to make Cornstarch Clay.
NOTE: Cornstarch Clay is remarkably sturdy and long lasting, BUT… you can’t carry these little dolls in your pocket. If you want it to last, you need to be gentle. Your Cornstarch Clay Worry Doll will need to live on a shelf or in a dollhouse, rather reclusively.

I used a bit too much water in making my clay, so it was a bit too sticky, which made it not as much fun to work with as it might have been.
I probably should have tossed it back in the saucepan and chased it around with a spoon for a bit to dry it out a touch more.
Dipping my fingers in a bowl of water helped to make the clay less clingie.
For the body and head, take a peanut size snippet of the cornstarch clay. Use a darning needle and your fingers to shape the body. Dampen it to smooth out the creasey bits.
Slide the darning needle through the upper body at the shoulders.
Then slide it through the lower body at the hips.
Make the head and body about 1 1/4 inches (3 cm) tall.
Make 2 little arms 3/4 inches (not quite 2 cm) long.
Make 2 little legs just a little more than 3/4 inches (2 cm) long.
Pierce holes at the tops of the arms and legs.

Hi Anita
I have dolls that I made 20 years ago, and they have not been affected by bugs. I would imagine that the incidence of bug damage would be determined by geography and climate.
:o) Noreen
PS: I’ll find some of the dolls and post pics of them…
