These dolls are more whimsical:

Wishing Windows Loom

I love small loom weaving, and have designed for them for many years.
Over the last year, I have been working on designing and developing a new little loom that we call the ‘Wishing Window Loom’. It’s a little peg loom that also includes a built in cordmaker.
I designed it specifically for making […]

Dollmaking as a Healing Art - Reclaiming Dolls” that help Sorting and Sifting through ‘Chance Remarks’

This Butterfly doll has plaid-ie wings that were made just by weaving with variegated yarn. Easie peasie.
she’s from my book:

To make checked fabric, here’s another 2 color technique:

Warp the loom over 6 sets of pegs with […]

The joys of weaving on small looms: The humble potholder loom

I absolutely love potholder looms. They’re portable, they are a pleasure to weave on (unless you get a really wobbly, twistie plastic one that lets you down. But, a sturdy plastic one can be a great pleasure!)
They are humble, simple little looms whose creative potential is totally under estimated!
I didn’t have one as a […]

Doll Shoes: Ouch! There’s a stone in my shoe!

I have been weaving and weaving and weaving, and playing with sticks and stones……..
I’ve been making woven dolls that are healing dolls, comfort dolls, metaphor dolls, dream dolls…….
When I carved the shoes for one of the dolls, I remembered a wonderful line from the old tv series: Northern Exposure. An obnoxious young musician was told […]
