Blogiversary bracelets

Yesterday, I posted about the ‘Blogiversary Bracelets’ that
I made to celebrate my daughter, Chloë’s and my blogiversary of our blogging for 2 years for b5.
We drove to their house for dinner last night - through a storm of epic proportions. Whew!~ visibility at one point was zero. We had to pull off the road because […]

Japanese Children’s Day

Oh rats! I have been waiting to post about the

Doll Celebration in Japan. In the back of my mind, I was convinced it was May 5. I figured that I would just google it to confirm that, and wailie, wailie! The doll festival was March 3!
Ah well, today, May 5, is still cause for celebration. […]

Eco projects to celebrate Earth Day

I’ve been having a wonderful time, re-fashioning, reclaiming, re-using, recycling and eco-crafting up a storm in celebration of Earth Day.
I reclaimed part of old desk drawers to make bag handles:

and I took a broken loom and turned it into wonderful ‘eco-bracelets’:

I  have lots more eco projects up my sleeve, so stay tuned!

Eco bracelets-3

I’ve been having a wonderful time reclaiming and re-using and recycling old bits of wood from a broken loom and a broken desk.
I made bag handles from the disintegrated desk:

and ‘eco’ bracelets from the schmooshed loom:

And here’s how the open sided bracelet evolved:
I cut it out from the lower part of the little keel loom:

and […]

Eco bracelets-2

Tick tock…. Earth Day is getting closer….. eco projects abound!
Yesterday, I posted about making ‘eco bracelets’ from reclaimed wood. A small loom that I was very fond of broke, so I didn’t want to just toss it.
I’ve just finished burning the designs on the round bracelet:

and the other side:

My daughter approves!  She’s asked for […]

Eco bracelets-1

We’re getting closer and closer to Earth Day (well, actually…..
EVERY day SHOULD be Earth Day), so I’ve decided to share a few of the eco friendly things that are happening in my studio.
I love taking something that -could- be thrown away, and reclaiming it by making something else with it.
For instance….. I recently broke a […]

Wear your shuttle

My clever son-in-law just made my daughter the most wonderful bracelet.
It’s a copper bracelet that he made by tweaking the design for the wonderful shuttles that he makes.
Shuttle bracelet
I would HAPPILY wear one or ten of those.
ahem.
ahem.

Embellished Crochet book

Woohoo!

Embellished Crochet is  out- yay!
I haven’t received my copy yet, but I went to Amazon.com to take a peek at it, and am tickled pink to see that 2 of my designs are on the front cover  (the beaded scarf and the beaded bracelets) and 2 more are on the back cover (the bag with […]

Welcome to this month’s b5 artist’s showcase!

A Spoolknitted Friendship bracelet from the heart!
