Hankering for Yarn

Back on track with lovely autumn colors of yarn, and notes about 4 color weaving on the potholder loom

I’ve been experiencing bloggus interuptus as we have been coming to terms with the death of Jim’s sister, Patty.

The death of a sister is a terrible thing, and I send heartfelt hugs to other people who are going through this, too…..

One of the things that I have just been loving, and finding to be very comforting is to work with deep, rich colors. I’ve been doing a lot of work with Caron’s new Shadows and Tweed yarns, and I just love them. Autumn Red, Grape, Dark Sage and Soft Merino are my absolute faves…. I couldn’t get the colors to read right, so, close enough is going to have to be good enough….

I’ve been crocheting with them, and have also been weaving with them on the potholder loom. When you add a little yellow, they really zing.

I wanted to play with the idea of plaids on the potholder loom, so, I got out my graph paper:

and started coloring….

and then my yarns, and started weaving

and am pleased with the somewhat plaidie results.

There is comfort to be found in the movement of lovely colored yarns through our fingers……….

be well……..

hugs and blessings
