Angels for Peace - Pieces of Peace
In the summer of 2007, I taught a workshop on making Angels for Peace.
I think a lot about how we make peace.
Peace is made in a million, billion different ways, every day, one little piece of peace at a time. Making an Anges of Peace doll is a metaphor that reminds us about how we envision peace and how we go about creating peace in our lives - at a personal level, and as entire communities.
This has lead me to realize that the Angels of Peace dolls have to reflect a broad spectrum of imagery - from the sweet and simple, to the elegant and complex. After all, peace can be simple, but it is also profoundly complicated, too!
I make Peace Angel dolls with a broad range of techniques: Crochet,(including felted crochet), knitting, spoolknitting and small loom weaving.
So, what does ~your~ Angel of Peace look like?
Peace! and hugs all round

Where and when are you teaching the class on Angels for Peace. I hope to be able to get to Manchester but it would only be for the weekend (Sat and Sun). I live in Long Island and would love to attend the class if you were offering nearby.

Thanks Noreen–she was fun & very simple to make–handmade paper, Chinese joss paper, skeletonized leaves, & a little glue. I like it that she’s simple & freestanding.
