Adopting a rescued baby horse-6: update
We adopted a baby horse from a wonderful rescue organization: Wild Rose Rescue
This is Nanci, the ‘Rescue Mum’, with her rescued Boxers:
My dear friend, Judy Wood, who is a horse woman, Boxer afficianado and artist extraordinaire, said: If Nanci is into Boxer and horse rescue, then you know she’s sound!
:D
Nanci was the one who intuited that Starbuck was the perfect horse for us to adopt after the death of our horse, Tella. She was right!
Here are some of the latest pics of us and our new furkid:
Jim is hiding the woundcoat behind his back, as Starbuck had a booboo that needed a little spritz. She thinks that stinks.
And here I am, having a little cuddle:
What a blessing.
If you are considering bringing a furkid into your family, please, please, please work with a reputable rescue organization and adopt from them. You’ll be endlessly glad that you did. And so will your furkid.
hugs

OH NOREEN!!!! She’s adorable! And she looks so happy with her new mate. And Jimbly looks adorable with then too! I so love that you are a rescue person too. My house is full of rescued little people, with another one hopefully on the way (Babs, the pug!). I hope Starbucks with have a long happy life with her new family. I know you will adore having her.
Blessings to you all. My animal companions have kept me afloat when nothing else has.
Love to you all,
Maitri

Starbuck is just the dearest little horse, and I absolutely love her. I feel so blessed to have her in our lives. I’m still sad that our old Mare died, but we would not have thought of adopting wee Starbuck if she hadn’t……… so out of that sadness has come joy.
And, yes, we are very committed to the animal rescue process. All our animal companions have been adopted through reputable rescue organizations. A total win-win situation!
joy and love!
