Knitting bags are hot fashion items these days. They are also just plain useful.
I made one for my daughter for Christmas.
I made a really fun one to take to workshops last summer
I have a huge collection of knitting bags, because I have a ton of projects on the go at any given time.
A lady on […]

My daughter asked for a woven bag for Christmas. She described it quite carefully.
I mulled over her request and got the Lily Speed o weave out and warped up.
Well, in my studio, the cats believe that I couldn’t possibly warp a loom without their assistance:
Which makes the small dog crazy:
He just doesn’t understand that he […]

My sister in law gave me a lovely little vintage Weave it loom for Christmas and it inspired me to deal with my holey socks!
I posted about how I’ve been mending socks with little woven patches a day or so ago.
Today, after I went out to shovel the walks, my boot pulled off my sock, […]

I’ve made hats for the rest of the family and I decided that it’s time to make one for myself.
I just finished crocheting the coziest new hat from alpaca fleece that my best friend sent me a few years ago. I just went out and shovelled the sidewalk and my new hat kept me deliciously […]

One of our favorite things to do in deep mid winter is to go to the local conservatory.
There is just nothing like soaking up the beauty of the flowers when it’s bitterly cold outside:
I LOVED seeing the Bird of Paradise flowers-
I was bowled over by the wild exuberance of the flower.
And, was also tickled because […]

I’ve been working on a humoungous spool knitter, and have just finished it up! I am so pleased with it!
It’s 9 inches tall (including the height of the pegs) and 9 inches in diameter. It’s not a spool knitter for wimps! LOL!
It’s going to take a box the size of a refrigerator to ship it!
I […]

Yesterday, I wrote about my new (to me) vintage 2 inch Weave-it loom.
One of my favorite things to do with 2 inch weave-it looms is to fix my holey socks. After all, when you put all that effort into knitting socks, you want to rescue them when they get holey! So, whaddya gonna do? […]

In my last posting, I think I used the word, ‘big’, about a dozen times.
Well…. whaddya gonna do?
We are making a B I G spool knitter for Maitri’s magical and splendiferous freeform wearable art making!
I drew a sweetheart of a serpent on the side of the spool knitter, and then […]

My friend, Maitri Libellule, makes freeform wearable art with her spool knitters and crochet hooks. She’s been making spectacular, huge wearable serpents. They’ve been getting bigger and bigger, so she’s needing bigger and bigger tools to make them.
So, we have made her a H U G E spool knitter:
It’s 9 inches across and […]

My sister in law shops at the world’s best second hand store.
And, nope, I am NOT going to share the info on where it is!
LOL!
Anyhow…. I absolutely LOVE it that she finds me the best fiber arts stuff there.
Look what she found for me for Christmas:
A TURQUOISE (my favorite color) 2 inch square Weave- it […]
