I was inspired by the woven covers for the handbound book:

to make a handbound book with crocheted covers.
It also seemed the perfect place for the flat dolls that I have designed to be […]

YIKES and yech!
There’s a problem with some of the pics on my blog.
I used to have 2 blogs on b5. But, it was too much, so we shut down Sacred Dolls and Bears. The techie folks moved the content of SDB over to Hankering for Yarn.
BUT! The pics still think that they belong on SDB, […]

This past week has been a corker. Jim’s Mum has been in hospital all week and it’s thrown us for a loop. She was really sick, but has pulled through and is beautifully on the mend, and will be heading home! Yay!

I was surprised to receive a copy of Knit.101 in the mail.
I didn’t realize that my designs are in it! They are, and I am pleased :)
And, I also received my copy of the new baby blankets book, too. I designed one of the blankies in there, as well.

So, I really like to have portable projects to work on in transit, and also to work on while we are there in the hospital.
I had been thinking about the handbound books, and thought:
OH! weaving […]

One thing always leads to another for me….
I’ve gotten so inspired with making
the handbound books!
Today, I made a handbound with wooden board covers that are approximately 11 inches tall and 6 inches.
The doll is crocheted from tissue paper that I handspun.
Her wings are wooden ice cream spoons that were too charming to throw away.
The […]

Oh, my word! I am having such a blast with the handbound, handmade books made with reclaimed/recycled paper.
Today, I was thinking about the different sizes of books you can make. When you have a piece of paper that is used on one side, fold it in half, and that makes a page for a […]

Today, a lady asked me how big the handbound reclaimed paper books are.
Here’s the original posting of how to make the handmade books with spool knitted bindings:
Spool knitted Books
You can make these books any size you like, depending on the size of the paper that you want to reclaim/recycle.
I’ve been making them in 2 […]

There are all kinds of ways of making the knots in the spool knitted cords that bind the handmade books that I’ve been talking about lately:

Here’s a closer look at a really simple way of tieing up the binding:
Starting at the center hole:
The darning needles are pointing in the direction that you’ll go […]
