Toe Up Socks

I keep reading about this technique for making socks that supposedly is easier and faster than the standard cuff-down method. I personally have never tried this technique, but it looks intriguing.
I searched out a few patterns with explanations on the technique for you to try. It might be a good one to attempt […]

Knitting Olympics 2006

Eligibility: Any knitter who, embracing the “Citius, Alitius Fortius” ideal,
would like to challenge themselves while embracing the Olympic spirit,
and is just whacked enough to play along with me. Concept: You must

ooooh, My Freezing Fingers

In the winter, my hands are always cold. I know they say “cold hands, warm heart,” but it seems a high price to pay! I hate that feeling. It is most noticeable when I am on the computer or when I am knitting.

Ribbon Yarn - WIP

I broke out the camera (which I am still learning to use, so bear with me) to share another project with you. This is one of the ones I bought at the first of the month when I was having far too much fun shopping online for yarn.
I am making a wonderful pattern that I […]

Purple Kitty Sale

No, they aren"t selling purple kitties, not literally anyway. (I bet they could make a fortune off of that though - would that be an eye-catcher or what?)
Purple Kitty is a fabulous source for patterns (especially for crochet) and yarn. Lots of yarn and it is good yarn. Right now they have […]

Confused About How Much Yarn To Buy?

There are few things more frustrating than being faced with a yarn you love, and have no idea how much to buy. Well, there is one thing worse - buying the yarn and running out of it when you are almost done. It is important to understand how much yarn typical projects take […]
